Building a Virtual Dream Wedding
I led the creative development of a fully immersive metaverse wedding, transforming Taco Bell's digital space into an unforgettable experience. We designed a virtual venue with Taco Bell-inspired elements, including lanterns made from Taco Bell bags, a giant nacho cheese fountain, a Baja Blast station, and a colossal Cinnabon Delights cake. The ceremony integrated traditional Indian customs, such as Sheel’s entrance on a magical elephant and a ceremonial Mandap for the wedding vows.
We also embraced cutting-edge technology, creating teleportation features, custom avatars, and NFT wearables for the wedding guests. The event culminated in the first-ever "metaverse kiss," made possible through a bespoke NFT emote. DJ Bell Head and the ‘Hot Sauce Packet’ dancers added an unforgettable touch to the celebration, making the event both technically challenging and visually spectacular.
The First Metaverse Kiss and Global Attention
The wedding reached audiences far beyond the metaverse. Hosted live on YouTube by Kal Penn and streamed by influencer LEGIQN on Twitch, the event became a social media sensation. Kal Penn’s appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert brought even more attention to Taco Bell's innovative take on virtual weddings. With media coverage skyrocketing after the first-ever metaverse kiss, we succeeded in creating not only a memorable experience for the couple but a meaningful cultural moment that captured the world’s imagination.
